"The great virtue of a free market system is that it does not care what color people are; it does not care what their religion is; it only cares whether they can produce something you want to buy. It is the most effective system we have discovered to enable people who hate one another to deal with one another and help one another."

"The government was set to protect man from criminals and the Constitution was written to protect man from the government."

"It is not the business of government to make men virtuous or religious, or to preserve the fool from the consequences of his own folly. Government should be repressive no further than is necessary to secure liberty by protecting the equal rights of each from aggression on the part of others, and the moment governmental prohibitions extend beyond this line they are in danger of defeating the very ends they are intended to serve."

"When the government’s boot is on your throat, whether it is a left boot or a right boot is of no consequence."

Jefferson
"A wise and frugal government which shall restrain men from injuring one another, which shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government."

What's in it for us? The guys in charge are bad guys who are not our friends. The guys trying to toss them out are just as likely to be bad guys who won't be our friends. So what do we do? Let's support every rebel in sight just to keep everybody off balance.
Goldwater
Paraphrased: must get government out of our pocketbooks -- off our backs -- and out of our bedrooms. Why don't people get that? The left want government in somebody else's pockbook. The right, especially the religious right, want government in somebody else's bedroom. Nobody cares as long as government is on somebody else's back.
Strauss-Kahn
The frog IMF chief gets denied bail because he might flee like Roman Polanski did. Sweet! Straight from a $3000 a night suite to Riker's Island. He is a socialist after all so he shouldn't mind rubbing elbows with the little people.
Pelosi
So, 20% of the latest round of Obamacare waivers go to small businesses in Pelosi's district. Just another sign that Obamacare is about command and control.
Romney
How can he claim with a straight face that his version of Obamacare is way good while Obama's is way bad? He's another one with no credibility.
Debt ceiling
Today we hit the debt ceiling. Oops, credit card shut off. When you borrow 40% of what you spend, spending is a problem. No debt increase until some real headway is made on spending. Time for the crybabies in DC to act like adults.
Gingrich
Newt was right when he said that social engineering from the right is as bad as social engineering from the left, but he loses all credibilty when he uses that thought to claim that Ryan's plan is lousy and Medicare should be kept pretty much as is. A couple of months ago he liked Ryan's plan. How exactly does he plan to fix Medicare? You're outta here Newt.
Trump
The thing I like about the Donald is that he is confrontational. He's a lousy candidate but he says what everyone else is thinking. Maybe other GOP candidates can learn somethign here instead of trying to be polite.
